Life with the kids

Robert's left front tooth dangled stubbornly in its place for a week or more. He even started to scare the girls with it.Then, it came out. I took the girls to Ikea last week during a successful attempt to re-organize the flow of laundry in our house. Turns out that Ikea had revamped their restaurant. New chairs and a new play area.

Esther's outfit of choice that day? Two shirts and two dresses. Gotta love the layering. Somebody call Tim Gunn. . . .

CC still has the Laurie signature look.

Team Yardi goes undefeated!

Robert had a great first season of soccer this fall. Here he is with his coaches: Winston, V and Coach Green. Also pictured: his teammate, Jay. The whole team.Getting ready to play.
Esther and Granny cuddled on the sideline.
CC too.
Robert covers a throw in.

He defends the goal.

Getting ready to kick.

At the goal.
I had a good time watching the team this year. Still can't believe that kid is SEVEN.
We had a date night together last week. After school we went to Sensations Therafun (http://www.sensationstherafun.com/) where we played, rode a zip line, and rode bikes.
Then we had dinner at Moe's. Just before going into the restaurant Robert grabbed me for a huge hug. I asked what it was for and he said, " I just love our date Mom!" I love you too kid. And I will be the only lady that you go out on dates with okay?

A soggy Halloween

It sprinkled all evening on Halloween. We braved the elements anyway. We got a little wet. Batman and Minnie Mouse still got plenty of candy. Our beautiful fairy princess started dry.And got wet like the rest of us. My friend Veronica's clever pumpkin carving.
After trick or treating, Gloria, Scott, Gustavo and Werner came over for dinner. We passed out candy and had lovely food. Thanks for joining us friends. Why didn't I take photos?
A few days ago the girls cuddled in a chair. They know how to turn on the charm.

I love you Portland forever. . . part two

In typical Rob fashion my husband sent a list of about 9 restaurants for me to consider while in Portland. We chose Kenny and Zuke's (http://www.kennyandzukes.com/) for breakfast on Monday. See my bagel? The meat on top is the best pastrami that ever was eaten on earth by a human. It melted in my happy mouth The deli counter with all the stuff they make on site.

Three happy ladies: Eleanor, me and Sheryl.
Unfortunately, the staff was not as happy to be there that morning as we were. Our waitress was flat out rude and when we went to buy some of the pastrami (to tote back to our loved ones), the girl at the counter just plain ole refused because it wasn't lunch time yet. Ouch.
Don't despair yet dear readers! Julie, the producer on the commercial shoot got wind of our experience, marched down to Kenny and Zuke's herself and procured pastrami a plenty for us. Now, that is way beyond the call of duty!!! Thanks Julie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This chandelier in my room made me giddy.
The actual commercial shoot took place all day on Monday. We went to the studio in 3 groups of 3, with my group going last.
Here, Eleanor, Sheryl and Tanika hang out in the green room.
Natalie, Tanika and Amy.

Wanna see more of the studio and what went on? The finished commercial should start airing a little before Thanksgiving. . .
Now, for some serious eye candy. Please have a look at the fabu-licious lobby at The Nines hotel.

Here is "the pantry room" section of the restaurant, The Urban Farmer. Yep, they canned that food there and they serve it there too. 100 % love.
