The Bradford Farm Store

This is Robert writing. Today my family and I went to the Bradford farm store. Of course I found the candy rack quite interesting. The store has many different selections of fresh local produce such as, beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, and some other things. It is a very cool store for the whole family. There is even a cute bunny across the road.Outside, everywhere you look there are rows of plants. There are also some cool little gadgets like an MnM dispenser. The store is located on HWY 73 in Huntersville, NC. Have fun!

9 years of Esther- let's bowl!

My Esther bean turned 9. So we had a bowling party.  Granny embroidered bowling shirts for all of the kids and made a red velvet rainbow cake.  Esther and Granny spent the morning decorating it together:). Sweet.

CC turns six with CC (Chuck E. Cheese)

Goodbye Chuck E. Cheese.  You creep me out, but my kids like celebrating at your establishment.  So we made a deal: each kid gets one b-day party with you.  And so, this is goodbye.  CC represents our third and final party with you.  Thanks for the memories.  I will not miss you.
Ellison and Olivia joined us in the van on the way to the party.

A room of one's own (design)

We have designated a room at our new place for such activities as art, homework, crafting and coloring.  It took quite a bit of painting (walls and furniture), but I am very very happy with our new CRAFT ROOM.

starting to feel like home

Shaping the environment around me has always been an important part of my process when adapting to a new place.  Just ask my freshmen college roommate about floral contact paper.
With A LOT of help from my mom (window treatment seamstress extraordinnaire) and dad (curtain hanger par excellence), some homemade pillows and new lampshades, my living room is beginning to feel home-ish.  Did I mention the artwork by my sis?  And now ladies and gentlemen, I give you, my living room.

Ain't it hot??

A tree lighting before Advent- why not?

We went with our neighbors, the Gaskills, to Birkdale Village just in time for a lovely tree lighting.
They had fake snow blowers-very fun for the kids.

This is Ellison Gaskill, our next door neighbor.

weekend without dad

Rob has been out of town so I tried to provide lots of fun things to do this weekend.  Burlington kids,"what was your favorite thing we did this weekend?"

RCBIII-  "My favorite thing was the library."  North County Regional
I took them to get their new cards at our beautiful and very nearby library:  North County Regional.  Our new library has an app.  I downloaded it before we even moved thanks to my library savvy sister-in-law, Megan.

EEB- "The best thing I did this weekend was the couple 50 cartwheels I did outside.  Yep, for sure."

CCB-"My favorite thing is to go to the pool and play on the big playground that is wet.  But we can't do that now because it is too cold."

MOM- "My favorite thing was being with you guys."

Other highlights:
watching Arthur at A and B automotive after school.
