Maine eye candy

On a rainy day in Maine the light is so diffused that the flowers jump out at you. Note the use of the conch in this planter. So clever.
The beach at Short Sands like I have never seen it before: moody and churning.

Here is the cottage we rented and loved during week 2.Jen and Rob enjoying quality time.Rebecca gives CC some lovin. On the front porch the girl cousins model their matching dresses from Nonnie and Grampy.Anna and Jen. More awesome Remick farm pics. Who me?
Yeah me!Be still my beating heart. Rob and Esther.Silly.
Big Daddy and Little Mama. Three generations. Robert Craig Burlingtons 1, 2 and 3.What planet is this?Gotta love those swings.
Stephie, Jen, the kids and I visited First Parish Church one morning to find Pop Fiske's grave. We sang "You are my sunshine" to him.

CC curtsies. The Atsaves family joined the festivities during week #2 too.
Here's Pete.
The whole family.Robert poses with his new friends Noah and Evan Atsaves. We even got to celebrate Stephie's birthday.
The time to leave Maine is never easy.
Especially for Larry.
Where did the time go?Okay, this is a little better Larry.Still smilin' after 10 days with the Burlingtons. Thank you Anna!Goodbye Rick, Judy and Gram.Next stop: Rob's childhood home in Maplewood, New Jersey. The kids LOVED seeing Rob's house at 52 Curtis Place.A real Maplewood firetruck.

Waterlilies on the pond behind the Maplewood library.Big Daddy's parish for over 20 years: St. George's.
After lunch in Maplewood, we continued driving to Philadelphia. It was there that we encountered our first steamy-hot weather of the whole vacation. Sean Mullen was our host for a night at St. Mark's. I loved seeing Philadelphia by foot and learning all about St. Mark's parish. Thank you for sharing your home, your city and your meatballs with us Sean.
Visiting Rittenhouse Square gave us a chance to feel the breeze and find some cool animals. The square was packed with locals, handsome men and cute babies. See below. We trekked over to the new Comcast building in the morning. Check out the following photo of the lobby. See the cool wall with 2 pictures on it?This is the same wall. It turns out that most of the wall is a screen and a series of short entertaining projection movies is running constantly on the wall. We sat and watched that for a long time. Super. duper. ultra. amazingly. cool. no wonder cable is so expensive.
