to spring or not to spring

We are suffering from weather confusion here in the ATL. 39 degrees this morning- really?

This perplexing outfit (chosen completely by Esther) says it all.

Somethin' from nothin'.

The concept of making something (great) from nothing (stuff I already have) intrigues me greatly. My latest "somethin' " is the inspiration board above and below. I took a wooden art supply box, emptied it and glued in a multitude of corks that I have been saving since 2000. Once completed, I cut out wardrobe inspirations from a magazine and pinned them onto the cork.
Now I have something tangible to shape my spring style. Ahhhh. I better get to sewing. . .
p.s. the inspiration board is on mama's table. :)

All things GREEN

Looking around the house I am realizing how much I love green. It's everywhere!

A pretty cabbage for dinner.
The now tv room with avacado bookcases. The foot of a leprechaun.
Said leprechaun.

Self portrait.
Another leprechaun under her painting, in a green room.

Esther's side of the girls' room. A green E.

CC's crib next to a green shade.

A table of one's own.

I don't really need a whole room.
Just a table.
And yesterday, after a week of re-arranging furniture, making a playroom, moving CC's crib to Esther's room and 2 trips to Ikea, it happened.
My table.
Mine.
I can write, craft, scrapbook or whatever. Mama like.

p.s. The new and improved playroom.

Let's eat outside!

Lest things get dull, the craft fairy appears to liven things up! Matt Miller shows his pink and purple.
Emma and Baikal with Emma's bracelets made with the craft fairy. How can weather be so different from one week to the next? Esther had a fun and colorful birthday party. Thank you everyone!!

soccer anyone?

Rob is coaching the AGS soccer team this year so I have been meeting him and the team at the practice field a few times a week. The kids kick, run, scream and hey- CC can't walk yet, but she can kick! Check out the videos below:

snow in the southland

It snowed a lot last Sunday. As Robert and I left church the flurries began. It proceeded to snow so hard that we had to postpone Esther's Pink and Purple b-day party. We still had a lot of fun!
Looking down good ole' Winburn Drive.

The snowman in our neighbors' front yard.
Our deck, photo by Robert.

Robert, looking from the inside to the outside.

Our little house, from across the street. Seriously, how cute is that house in the snow!?!?

Esther, not sure about soaking wet feet.

In the side yard.
Robert throws a bullseye- into his own bedroom window, with me standing inside. :)

With our neighbor, Samara, at her house. All the gear- soaking and dripping. How do moms in the north deal with this?
Looking across the street when it was really coming down.
Since the kids (and Rob) didn't have school on Monday, we went and looked at houses in the afternoon. We must have seen 20 snowmen remaining from the previous day. This one was definitely the biggest.
